Who Were The Everly Cattlefeeders?

“One of the Top 10 Best High School Nicknames” – ESPN, 1989

“Everyone has been enchanted with the Everly Cattlefeeders over the years.” – Chuck Offenberger (”Iowa Boy”) • Des Moines Register

The Everly Cattlefeeders & Cattlefeederettes may have had a funny name, but they took their sports seriously. State Champs in both baseball and girls basketball, the Cattlefeeder years ultimately produced two hall-of-fame athletes, a hall-of-fame coach, a pro women’s basketball player and a major league baseball player, along with several college athletes and some semi-pro players. Not bad for a farm town with a population much smaller than the average cruise ship’s passenger list. The Cattlefeeder mascot was retired in 1990, thus ending six decades of a proud sports tradition with an “unusual” nickname.

The Legendary Cattlefeederettes

Our Mission

Our commemorative products are a labor of love by a former Cattlefeederette, whose mission is to keep the Cattlefeeder legend alive, and to inspire people everywhere with the idea that even small ponds can produce some pretty good-size fish.
